Have summer without mosquitoes

2021-08-05

Nothing ruins a perfect summer evening like the whine of a mosquito in search of a warm meal. There are 176 species of these annoying insects in the United States and more than 3,000 species throughout the world, according to the American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA) — enough to ruin any number of picnics by the pool.

These little pests are considered the most deadly animals in the world and contribute to close to a million deaths per year, according to an article in Smithsonian magazine. This is not because of the itchy bite, but mainly because of the diseases transmitted by the bite.

Mosquitoes belong to a family of flies called the Culicidae. Not all species suck blood, but many of those that do can transmit diseases, including West Nile virus and yellow fever. Even disease-free mosquitoes are irritating because of their saliva, which causes an allergic reaction in the form of an itchy red bump.

Because of mosquitoes’ nasty bites, it’s a good idea to try to keep these insects at bay. Luckily, there are many strategies you can use to do so.

How Can You Prevent Mosquito Bites?

Clothing

Wear clothing that covers your body and is made of thick, durable material. Treat your clothing with mosquito-repellant permethrin, or purchase pre-treated gear and clothing for an added layer of protection. If you have children, make sure to cover their exposed skin with clothing, and use a mosquito net around cribs, playpens, and strollers to form a physical barrier of protection.

Home

Secure your home so that mosquitoes can’t get inside by keeping windows and doors closed, installing screens, and turning on your air conditioning (mosquitoes hate cold weather).

A mosquito’s favourite breeding ground is standing water; they lay their eggs in planters, outdoor toys, trash cans, tires, rain gutters, and anything else that collects water, so do regular checks around your house and dry (or dispense of) anything that collects water.

Repellent

Mosquito repellent is a great way to protect your family from mosquitoes.Pestman mosquito repellent essential oil is the first plant essential oil mosquito repellent product that achieves mosquito repellent effect through natural volatilization in the world. It is made of a variety of plant essential oils evenly mixed in a specific proportion, mainly lemon essential oil, osmanthus essential oil, peppermint essential oil and so on.

It emits a pleasant and fragrant smell. This smell will interfere with the mosquito’s olfactory system, making it impossible for mosquitoes to find humans. Some mosquitoes will find an exit and fly out of the room. Mosquitoes that cannot find an exit and stay in the room will also be affected by it. Starved to death due to lack of food and water. In addition to the pleasant smell, the amount is small each time, the natural volatilization effect is good, and it is also very safe for people. It is suitable for repelling mosquitoes in various indoor environments.

The method of use is very simple. Leave the bottle open and place the bottle on the ground at the innermost corner of the room. Put a bottle in each room (10-30 square meters), so that the essential oil can diffuse throughout the room. If the room is large, you need to increase the number of bottles as appropriate. Do not open doors and windows frequently in rooms where essential oils are placed. Because 1-2 ml of essential oils are volatilized every day, if you open doors and windows frequently, the essential oils will drift to other rooms or outdoors. If the concentration of essential oils indoors does not reach a certain concentration, it will not have a good mosquito repellent effect. If you need to open the window for ventilation, it is recommended to open the window for no more than 2 hours a day.
